Lilian & Natasha
I would like to introduce myself as Natasha Vella Petroni. I graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelors of Art in Philosophy and later on continued with my studies, reading for a Masters in Adult Education. I worked in the field of education for a period of 10 years teaching various subjects such as Mathematics and Physics. Whilst I always enjoyed the classroom setting, I always had a passion for the hospitality sector. However not being the area I had studied or worked, I always imagined that it would be impossible to change careers so drastically.
I never gave up on my dream, and in the year 2019 I decided that it was time for the change. I, together with my two little boys decided to move to the beautiful island of Gozo permanently. There I started my own Bed and Breakfast Business. Rummiena Farmhouse was the perfect setting! With 6 bedrooms and with plenty of Gozitan charm, it was ideal and for my start up. Business was good and I had many satisfied guests until Covid struck and regretfully, had to shut my doors for a while. Once lockdown was over I had to re-evaluate my plan. Rummiena would no longer be set up as a bed and breakfast, due to Covid measures, but would start running as a short let self- catering farmhouse. That summer was a success. Guests loved the house, and I really enjoyed hosting. From there the idea to grow this business started.
Being an only child my parents decided to also move over to Gozo, in order to closer together. My mother Lilian was working as a freelance interior designer. As soon as I suggested that we should set up shop together, she did not think twice! That was the creation of GozoStays! A mother and daughter duo!
I cannot say we did not have ups and downs during the past two years of Covid. But we certainly did not give up! Today we run five beautiful farmhouses all on the stunning island of Gozo.
