Rummiena is a truly one of a kind property here in Gozo. Dated around 300 years old, this farmhouse was once the home of a traditional Gozitan family. Situated in Xewkija, it is the perfect location for those who travel without cars. It is centrally located minutes away from the capital city, Rabat, and to countless mini markets, restaurants, fish shops, bakeries and all other necessities.
This two storey farmhouse is set on two roads, with two separate entrances and ample parking spaces right outside both doors. With six bedrooms all with en-suites, Rummiena is perfect for large groups, and can accommodate up to 19 guests easily and comfortably, all sleeping on beds. All rooms are distributed around the pool, with their own entrances and key sets, giving the house the feeling of being more of a mini hotel.
Upon entering the house, there is a welcoming entrance hall overlooking the pool. From here one enters the first building, ‘Cottage’. This consists of the main living room with a Smart TV and local channels, a corner sofa, a dining table, extra fridge and small sink area. This room is also furnished with a traditional wood burning fireplace. Inside this building is the first bedroom which has two floors. Downstairs is a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower facilities. Upstairs, one finds another double bed and a single, together with a half bath.
From outside access through an iron staircase, there is our latest modern room ‘Terrraceview’. This room consists of a double and a single bed, with an en-suite bathroom with shower. This room is surrounded by a large terrace with table and chairs and sun-loungers, overlooking the beautiful country views.
Across the pool and up the traditional outside stone staircase are two other rooms, enjoying a balcony with the pool and country views. The largest ‘Dragon’, comes with two floors. A double bed downstairs and two single beds upstairs. This room also has an en-suite with shower facilities. Adjacent to it is ‘Winter’, with a double bed and en-suite with a large walk in shower.
Closest to the pool one finds ‘Japan’. This is the smallest room in the house. It has a double bed and a combined wet room, which includes a toilet, sink and open shower. Inside the main house is the only bedroom which is set onto the kitchen. ‘India’, with its beautiful bright colours, comes with a double bed, a single bed and an en-suite with a bathtub.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary amenities such as fridge, microwave, gas hob, electric oven, electric kettle, coffee machine, toaster and washing machine. A large Smart TV can also be found. A large dining table and breakfast bench makes this space perfect for larger groups.
The outside space is ideal for large groups. The pool is four by seven metres, and has a separate Jacuzzi. There is a seventh bathroom outside with the pool equipped with toilet, sink and shower. By the pool is an outside open shower also. The large charcoal barbeque and traditional wood burning oven makes the house perfect for cooking any sort of food. There are three outside dining tables and chairs to accommodate all the group. The outside area is filled with sunlight all day throughout the beautiful summer months.
